Thanksgiving with Papa's family

Cell phones are the new favorite toy...and actually to date he has 3 of them...all passed down by family members. We send warm wishes and love to you all in this Holiday season. Merry Christmas and may still moments give you opportunities to reflect on the meaning and joy of the season!

backing up a bit...

We've suffered from limited internet so I haven't posted many photos but wanted to try to post the photos from when "Tiotstia"(Russian for Aunt) Stacie came to visit and we went to the pumpkin patch. If you remember last October the pumpkin patch photos are VERY different! Wow, what a year will do!

Aloha from the Big Island!

Aloha everyone! We enjoyed 10 days in Hawaii visiting Tia Panambi and Uncle Josh with the family...Tia Veronica, Abuela Nini, Grandpa Mike, Enrique (a family friend). We did the grand tour of the big island. Our time was complete with going to a Luau, seeing a volcano (lava!), kayaking in the ocean, snorkeling, swimming, and gazing at the millions of stars to name a few. It was my joy to see Phoenix enjoying the sand as much as he did...I don't think I've ever seen him smile so big! He loved the black, yellow and green sand. We hope to build a sand box for him soon as we often find him with his sand shovel trying to dig in the carpet. Mahalo!

A fun fascination

One of Phoenix's favorite things to do right now is to play with the washer and dryer. Already in training to be like his papa; he is fascinated with how things work... I also had to include a close up of his "rubber band" legs...once he's walking they will be a thing of the past.

Phoenix's first birthday Fiesta

In true Latin style, the family threw a first birthday for Phoenix...complete with Tia Benita's Sopa, Nini's "Tortillas" and Tia Julia's "Pan Dulce" we celebrated in style.

Phoenix's "Tricked- out" wagon

True to form Hamlet surprised us all with his elaborate wagon for Phoenix's first birthday. Complete with white wall tires, rear spring suspension and an operable steering wheel that turns the front axle. Phoenix is now traveling in style. Happy Birthday "pitu-pitu"...your papa loves you.

This entry has been changed a bit as Hamlet is now in the process of patenting his idea...(sorry, no images till all is set). This is a humbling and exciting new adventure in our life and we'll let you know how it goes...

Our South Korean Brothers

We were blessed to host two students from South Korea for the weekend. We also got to enjoy a Korean meal complete with games, food and dress! We send you warm wishes and blessings "Wesley" and "Chris"! We are so thrilled that Phoenix is making international friends so young in life so that our prayers for him to be an Ambassador of Christ's love to people all over the world will be fulfilled.

Indiana, Grass and Wally

So it's a bit of a change coming from Oregon to Indiana...to find humiditiy, sun and hot weather! (compared to the cold, rainy 60 degree weather in Oregon). Thankfully the trip went well and we've enjoyed a few days with family in Indy. We made it just in time to celebrate Phoenix's Grandma's 63rd birthday. Mom, you've been an amazing example of a woman who loves, who sacrifices, who enjoys, who supports her husband, who loves her kids...I thank God for you. Happy Birthday.
