winter wonderland

So this might not be as much snow as what some of you are used to; but for Newberg, Oregon this is a rare sight. Here's a photo of Phoenix looking out the window taking it all in...

A walk in Champoeg Park

A sunny, cold winter day found us out and exploring at Champoeg Park.

His first swim

It's funny. You look at pictures like this, and if it wasn't for the fact that I'm telling you this if the first time he's been in a pool-it would be a somewhat normal, somewhat boring photo. But because this was his first time...his first time of swimming in a public pool-that gives these photo a whole new dimension and meaning.

half a year old

Half of a year. It's hard to believe that he's that old, and yet I can barely remember life before him. What was is like to sleep in? What was it like to go to sleep at night and then wake up in the morning because you are done sleeping; not because a baby is hungry? What was it like to be able to spend a whole day away by yourself and not need to be in close distance to a potentially hungry baby? What was it like to wear dresses? (it's not an option for a nursing mom)...

The truth is that even though all those things were nice it doesn't even compare to the joy that this little guy brings...hard work and all.

At least it's made in Mexico

Okay, so it's sad that most, if not all toys are made in China. Thankfully the rings that my mediever friend gave me is from Mexico. Thanks Heather for thinking outside the box.

Nap Time

Phoenix has suprised us with alot of new things as he's turned 6 months...he's started sleeping through the night (I had to wake him up to feed him!), he has rolled over several times, he sits up on his own (with pillows to catch his fall), he is very alert and aware of people and shows it with grand smiles...and he takes great naps (as shown) . This is such a fun stage and a joy to watch and have a front row seat to.
